Born on November 22, Chris Metzen is an American game designer, artist, voice actor and an author of fictional universes. He is a scripter for Blizzard Entertainment’s three award-winning games: Warcraft, Diablo and StarCraft. When Metzen was first hired by Blizzard he was an animator and artist. His first work with the company was with the video game Justice League Task Force published in North America in 1995. He assists the company’s project by providing voice talent for many characters, as well as artistic character design. Outside of Blizzard, Metzen authored a graphic novel based on a futuristic second American Civil War entitled Soldier: 76. He contributed to Blizzard’s 1994 Warcraft: Orcs and Humans as an artist and voice actor. Metzen along with another artist were pioneering designers on the popular game Diablo by Blizzard Entertainment. For the WoWers in us all he has been a voice actor on the following characters: Thrall, Vol’jin, Ragnaros and Hakkar the Soulflayer, and since World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King he has been a voice actor for Varian Wrynn.
